It's a bright full moon, and there is high haze in the sky, but Glenn was still able to locate Comet Holmes and point it out to me. Who else out there has seen it so far? It's in Perseus's thigh.

the nice fellow looked, but our sky was utterly white.

I read about it on Making Light last night, but the sky was too cloudy. Tonight the clouds in the evening were thin (they've thickened now) and I was able to see the comet with binoculars. Not as impressive as Hyakutake, let alone Hale-Bopp, but still, a comet.

It's clear here, but not as many stars as I expected. We've looked for the comet, but haven't seen it yet. Maybe later.

Have you tried again?

It looks like a regular star to my naked eye, but it's obviously a comet through binoculars: all blobby and unimpressive, but a comet nevertheless.

Yeah, one really wants a comet to have a tail, dammit. At least it looks like an obviously different object.

If you haven't seen it yet by Vanguard and if it's not cloudy that night, we'll make sure to point it out. We will bring the binocs.

All right, I'll give it a shot.

We were too low behind the building to have seen it until long after our bed time.

The last night there, though, we could see the Milky Way, which was pretty cool.
