kate_schaeferYou all know that I shill for Clarion West all the time, right? And that I've been promoting the Clarion West Write-a-thon? Recruiting 200 writers to write for the six weeks of the workshop, shadowing this year's students, writing all over the world while the students write in Seattle? Sign up ended last Saturday night at midnight, with 228 people working on whatever it is they need to write. They're writing now, and you can sponsor one of them if you like. Make a donation to Clarion West in honor of one of the participating writers; it could even be me, if you like. Get a tax deduction and the knowledge that you helped to keep a great writers workshop going.
But hey! If you feel all wistful because you missed the signup deadline, and you've just realized that you could use six weeks of writing motivation, there's another Write-a-thon, benefiting the other Clarion Writers Workshop, the one in San Diego. That workshop starts this coming Sunday, because they're working with a slightly different academic calendar down south than up here in Seattle. They're doing a Write-a-thon, too, and they'd be happy to have you, your writing goals, and anyone who wants to sponsor you join them.
