Earlier this evening, I was explaining a dirty joke to an 89-year-old man. I thought a) this is not a problem, as long as one has the right 89-year-old man; b) most 89-year-old men have forgotten more dirty jokes than I have ever heard; and c) okay, I'll have another stout.

As you mention it, I've forgotten quite a few jokes that particular 89 year old has told me. Could someone remind him to stop by Orycon and refresh my memory of the volvo joke, at the least. I've got more than enough scotch to coax as many jokes as he cares to loose. I'd better remember to bring a recorder though knowing my memory.

A friend of mine here at work just pointed out a short time ago that the youngest of the people busted on Willie Nelson's bus yesterday for possession of narcotic mushrooms and marijuana was 50 years old. What's this older generation coming to anyway?

Sure. It wasn't really a joke in the formal knock-knock-lightbulb-chicken tradition, and I wasn't so much explaining it to Art as making sure he heard all the words. Ulrika referred to the small mouse-substitute on some laptop computer keyboards as the clitoral button and mused that she could imagine some female computer engineer saying that it was about time for gender equity, since we already understand all about the joystick.

Yeah. When I met him, he looked a bit old for a guy in his sixties. Now, he looks pretty much the same, and very young and spry indeed for a guy one year short of ninety.

I wish I could remember to speak up and always speak directly at him when I'm talking to him; it's a courtesy I need to practice more carefully.
