kate_schaeferWhen trying to tempt random people to open the spam you send out by suggesting that you might be a long-lost friend, use "Mary" or "Jennifer" or "David" as the fake name, not "Potteiger F. Crysta".

Date: 2009-06-02 07:42 pm (UTC)I visualize the spammers running their spaminator software, generating all these stupid emails coming from fictional people. And then I visualize the authors of the spaminator software, smoking a little dope, and saying to each other, "Hey, let's make up some bogus first names! Those spammers in Nigeria won't know the difference, and who are they going to complain to? The Better Business Bureau?" For the next three weeks, they can make each other collapse laughing just by saying, "B-B-B!"
