When trying to tempt random people to open the spam you send out by suggesting that you might be a long-lost friend, use "Mary" or "Jennifer" or "David" as the fake name, not "Potteiger F. Crysta".

Potteiger F. Crysta wouldn't even be a good name for a Groucho Marx character. Dude.

Hahahaha ha!

Maybe Crysta was supposed to be the first name but their spaminator software screwed up.

I like the idea and the name of spaminator software. I hate the reality.

I visualize the spammers running their spaminator software, generating all these stupid emails coming from fictional people. And then I visualize the authors of the spaminator software, smoking a little dope, and saying to each other, "Hey, let's make up some bogus first names! Those spammers in Nigeria won't know the difference, and who are they going to complain to? The Better Business Bureau?" For the next three weeks, they can make each other collapse laughing just by saying, "B-B-B!"

I played a piano duet in first grade with Michaelina Tessalina. The only reason I remember it is because my mother thought the name so amusing.

(Just thought to google it -- no results. Bumma!)

I once typed a data record with the name "Danvial Gilliam." I found the name simultaneously mellifluous and unbelievable, and I've remembered it ever since. I didn't know if the name belonged to a man or a woman, and I don't remember anything about the temp job in which I typed that name.

(Googled it, and found that he died rather young in 1989.)

Unrelated, except that it's about email... did you receive my message from a couple of days ago?

I did, and meant to answer right away. I'm sorry; I was preoccupied on Monday, and then forgot. Let me switch over to another method of communication.

I don't know. Maybe a little more believable than A. Pismo Clam, maybe a little less than Mahatma Kane Jeeves...

I must admit that you're precisely right in positioning Potteiger F. Crysta between A. Pismo Clam and Mahatma Kane Jeeves in believability.

Waldorf T. Beagle, anyone?

As a name for a character played by Groucho? No. As a spammer name? Better than Potteiger F. Crysta, by a long shot.

Wow. Real life trumps fiction once again.

I knew a woman named Elizabeth Estrada, which is probably a fairly common name. All women named Elizabeth Estrada should be nicknamed "Beth" or "Eliza" or "Mabel", not "Liz."
